Church Plant Takes Root in Swisher, Iowa

Recently Created Vision Statement for
Crossroads Community Fellowship:

Focuses on Christ-centered biblical teaching, prayer and worship.

Remains faithful to personal relationships as an essential for discipleship, contribution and involvement.

Fosters a place to grow in maturity and commitment in the heart of the corridor and beyond.

For now, we think it defines our purposes fairly well and we look forward to the next stage of growth.

And speaking of growth, on Labor Day weekend we hit a high of 28 and have now begun to actively seek a larger place for our worship time. Pastor Blane will be speaking on the book of Philippians, “Joy.” Thanks so much, Nate, for filling in for Blane last Sunday. We look forward to hearing from you again soon!

This Sunday after church we plan to have lunch at the Swisher American Legion and get a close look at the facility. Please join us for coffee at 10:15, worship at 10:30 and lunch at 12:00. Please call for more information 319.841.2150

And the Gold medal goes to. . .

Sunday afternoon, church picnic. Notice the nametag trying to hang-on toSophia's jumper. She loves to rename all of us durring worship so it's a marvel this one stuck. Hey, we all grew up in children's church, we know all the tricks!

Such concentration, such determination.

This is a prime example of my 'Little Miss Independance.' She saw a big kid do it and now she HAS to do it. We didn't help her get there either, she latched on, pulled her feet up and procedeeded in doing pull-ups between the rings! We didn't get a shot of it b/c we were in shock! I don't think I could EVER do a pull-up!

For the Love of the Game. . .

Over a year ago, Nate's brother Rueben, put out a call for baseball equipment for his after school program in Chad, Africa. We had a great response from locals including the Cedar Rapids Kernals, our minor league team. It's so much fun to think of local baseball taking root half-way across the world.

But don't think its all just fun and games, they're really handy!
Using baseball bat, to grind crack nuts for a snack!

You get really hungry playing baseball, no matter where you are!
